General Manuel Noriega, the brutal dictator who ruled Panama from 1983 to 1989 died in St Thomas Hospital Monday May 29 at 11 PM.

He is survived by three daughters.

Following his overthrow by the US Military in 1989, he was taken to Miamai where he served many years in prison after convictions of money laundering, drug trafficing and conspiracy. He was then transferred to France where he served time for money laundering and fraud.

Finally in December 2011 he was extradicted to Panama on two counts of murder. His trial was delayed due to a brain tumor which was removed, and after falling into a coma, caused his death.
